Nick Pope was sidelined for a significant part of last season with a dislocated shoulder but the Newcastle United goalkeeper has wasted no time in finding his feet again.

After a clean sheet on matchday one, Pope was regularly tested against Bournemouth on matchday two. He produced three saves, managed six recoveries and completed 73% of his passes. He was helpless for the goal the Cherries netted during the 1-1 draw on the south coast.

Alphonse Areola has been a dependable figure for West Ham United since usurping Lukasz Fabianski as the club's number one. A more 'modern' goalkeeper than his Polish teammate, Areola also excels at the fundamentals.

The Frenchman managed a clean sheet on matchday two after West Ham rocked up at Selhurst Park and beat Crystal Palace 2-0. He may not have been forced into as many saves as he might have expected, but he still impressed with a calm display.

After a shaky opening against Manchester United, the German enjoyed a quieter encounter with Leicester City on matchday two. He did concede to Wout Faes, but his absent defenders shoulder greater responsibility for the Belgian's header.

He finished up against the Foxes having prevented 0.72 goals and completed 81% of his regular passes. A solid outing for the Fulham stopper in a crucial 2-1 win.

Neto was crucial for Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth last season as they overcame a tough start to enjoy a secure mid-table finish.

A consistent performer, the former Barcelona goalkeeper helped the Cherries secure a hard-fought point against Newcastle on matchday two.

He made four saves and prevented 1.65 goals, while also making five recoveries. An impressive display.

A maverick goalkeeper with an utterly unique style, Andre Onana is as proficient at looking a little bit silly as he is at pulling off the spectacular.

The Cameroonian star bounced back impressively after a tough start to his Man Utd career and enjoyed a fairly quiet opening night thanks to Fulham's inability to work an opening.

While he conceded twice on matchday two, Onana was left short-changed by his defence on both occasions, while he also impressed with his long-range passing.

With Premier League officials clamping down on blocking and obstruction from set-pieces, expect Guglielmo Vicario to enjoy an error-free sophom*ore season.

The Italian struggled most when he was forced into contact and teams started to bully the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper into concessions.

However, he was largely untested against Everton in a 4-0 victory, finishing the match without misplacing a pass and recovering the ball on 13 occasions.

Emiliano Martinez once again starred for Argentina over the summer as their remarkable run at major tournaments continued.

The ultimate s**thouse is a paramount figure for Unai Emery's Villans, although he could have done a little better with Thomas Partey's strike in a 2-0 defeat to former employers Arsenal on matchday two. He still made a couple good saves, though.

Ederson remains at Manchester City despite interest from Saudi Arabia and the Brazilian started his season with a clean sheet away at Chelsea.

Somewhat surprisingly, he couldn't manage the same against newly-promoted Ipswich Town, and the 31-year-old will be slightly frustrated with his efforts to keep out Sammie Szmodics' tame shot early on.

He didn't have to make a save otherwise but, as expected, he finished the match with 100% pass accuracy.

The reigning Golden Glove holder undoubtedly benefitted from operating behind the stingiest backline in the Premier League last season, but David Raya was made to work for his first clean sheet of 2024/25 against Wolves.

The same was true of his second shutout against Aston Villa, with the Spaniard producing one of the saves of the season already to deny Ollie Watkins from close range. A stunning stop that helped the Gunners claim an important victory.

While Raya earned Golden Glove honours last time out, he did so while making just 46 saves. Alisson, on the contrary, was almost always busy while serving as the last defender of Liverpool's aggressive defensive line.

However, under Arne Slot, Liverpool have mellowed. They take fewer risks in and out of possession and that has helped Alisson keep successive clean sheets at the beginning of the term.

He was still called upon against Brentford in the 2-0 victory and produced some impressive stops from set-pieces.
